We might have had to wait an extra year for it, but excitement and anticipation for UEFA Euro 2020 are finally reaching fever pitch. And with all three of England, Scotland and Wales having qualified for the main event, the rescheduled tournament is looking on track to be a memorable one.
Another element that makes this installment of the quadrennial competition special is that it marks its 60th anniversary, and as such, hosting duties will be shared by cities right across the continent. On our shores, both London’s Wembley Stadium and Glasgow’s Hampden Park are set to host matches. What’s more, after Dublin sadly had to drop out of its duties, Wembley has been signed up for extra matches in its place.
Whether you’re one of the lucky ones who’s bagged tickets to a big game or you’re looking for other ways to enjoy Euro 2020 at its fullest, read on for everything you need to know about Euro 2020 fixtures in England and Scotland.
With a whole 12 matches taking place between London and Glasgow, it would be crazy not to seize the opportunity to see some international football in person. And while there will naturally be reduced capacity at the stadiums given the circumstances, there are still set to be hundreds of thousands of tickets available to fans across the UK.
If you haven’t already secured tickets, more are expected to go on sale to the general public through May on a first-come, first-served basis.
Euro 2020 is set to kick-off on Friday 11th June 2021, and will see Italy and Turkey battle it out at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico. Wales fans will want to pay good attention here, as this fellow Group A match will determine what the path to the knockout round of 16 looks like for the team. Thankfully, you won’t have to wait much longer than that to see the home sides get their campaigns going though. And in Scotland and England’s case, they’ll even do so on home soil.
