What to do in...London

An absolute favourite activity of mine to do on a Sunday is visit Columbia Road Flower Market in East London with friends. Open on Sundays only, the Flower Market is hugely popular with locals and tourists alike. Avoid the crowds by going early (it’s open from 8am), picking up some fresh blooms from the friendly stall sellers then stop at Lilli Vanilli for a coffee, before browsing the many shops hidden along the road which are really worth a look in. Just a warning: it can get pretty crowded towards the end of the day, so don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Get lost among art at Hertford House

Find yourself wandering round Marylebone with some time spare? I strongly recommend you pay a visit to The Wallace Collection in Manchester Square, just a moment’s walk from Marylebone High Street. A national museum housing a vast collection of art, paintings, furniture, armour and porcelain, The Wallace Collection is set within a stunning London town house which will have you oohing and aahing in every room. And admission is free! Once you’ve finished refuel at The Wallace Restaurant which you’ll find within the house’s beautiful glass-roofed courtyard.

Get a taste from across the Channel  

With restaurants opening up every week in London, I always feel overwhelmed when it comes to choosing a restaurant in London. I discovered French restaurant Patron in Kentish Town last year and have to say, it’s one of my favourites for an all-round great dining experience. This charming restaurant makes you feel as though you’ve been transported straight to Paris! The delicious menu (the snails are a must, as is the camembert fondue!) and thirst quenching cocktails (the only way to finish your meal is with one of their espresso martinis) makes this family-owned bistro a must visit and well worth the trip up the Northern line.

Get glammed up

Whether you’re looking for a bar to really impress your date or somewhere fancy with friends, you need to put Disrepute firmly on your radar. The site was previously home to The Kingly Club (which entertained the likes of Audrey Hepburn and Prime Ministerial parties in the 60’s) and Disrepute has managed to maintain that same je ne sais quos, becoming one of London’s best well-kept secrets. The website gives nothing away but just take my word for it, you’ll be knocked off your socks once you’re inside. Expect ridiculously good liquid libations in a glamorous setting without the pretension. I’d make sure you book in advance - this place is hot property!
