Fancy a Kippa Tae or a Rosie Lee?

There are numerous ways to ask for the classic cuppa in the UK. From the traditional ‘tea’, ‘cup of char’ and ‘cuppa’ to regional variations such as ‘brew’ in Lancashire, a ‘Kippa Tae’ in Birmingham, a ‘cuppo the tea’ in Exeter, a ‘rosie lee’ in London, ‘tae’ in Northern Ireland, ‘panad’ in Wales or even a ‘scooby do’ in Manchester, it seems each region has its own name for Britain’s favourite hot drink.

Some examples include:

1. ‘Brew’ in Lancashire
2. ‘Kippa Tae’ in Birmingham
3. ‘Cuppo the tea’ in Exeter
4. ‘Rosie lee’ in London
5. ‘Tae’ in Northern Ireland
6. ‘Panad’ in Wales
7. ‘Scooby do’ in some parts of Manchester
