With the Olympics over and the Paralympics just about to come to an end, one could be forgiven for feeling a bit flat. The highs of Michael Phelps in the swimming; Usain Bolt, Jessica Ennis and Oscar Pistorius in the track and field; and Ireland’s and UK’s successes in the boxing, really made this summer one to remember. But now it’s over, you may be looking for something to recover from the excitement.

Get active:
Seeing the athletes perform at the two games could have inspired you to get active, so why not choose an activity break away.  Leonardo Hotel Milton Keynes  has a SNO!Zone ski lesson package available, which offers one night bed and  breakfast plus either a ski lesson package or slope pass from just £66.

An easier way to get active could be taking a trip on one of the many walking or bike trails around the UK’s and Ireland’s famous national parks. Leonardo Hotels can act as the perfect base from which to explore the natural beauty. Leonardo Hotel Galway provides ease of access to Connemara National Park while Leonardo Hotel Glasgow can act as an ideal base for those wishing to visit Loch Lomond.

Treat yourself:
If you’re more of a voyeur of sport than a participant, a break complete with spas and baths could be a more appealing option. From Turkish baths to day spas, all of the biggest cities in Ireland and the UK have a host of treatments from which you can choose. So sit back and enjoy the memories of the greatest wins in the Olympics and Paralympics.

Take a city break:
X factor is back but you’ll never beat a Super Saturday like that in the Olympics when Jessica Ennis, Mo Farah and Greg Rutherford romped home to gold within the space of an hour. To take your mind off the lack of excitement, why not go on a weekend trip. Absolut Fringe gets underway in Dublin in September while Plymouth's Marine City Festival also takes place.
