Both the UK and Ireland will be football mad over the next 4 weeks as the Euro 2016 Championships take place in France. If you weren’t one of the lucky ones to make it over to France don’t worry, there’s plenty of locations across the UK and Ireland to soak up the Euros atmosphere. Various fanzones have been set up for supporters to watch the games on big screens and cheer on their teams. Read on for our tips on the best places to catch the action.

Cardiff

Bute Park

A giant HD screen has been set up by Cardiff City Council in Bute Park with hundreds of fans able to look on as Wales play in their first international tournament in almost 60 years! The fanzone is free to enter and food and drink can be bought in the park.

Bute park is just a 9 minute walk from Leonardo Hotel Cardiff.

Belfast

Belfast Titanic Quarter

The biggest screen in Ireland has been erected in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter. The open air arena can hold up to 10,000 people which will create an electric atmosphere for Northern Ireland fans looking to cheer on their team. The Titanic Quarter is just a 14 minute taxi journey from Leonardo Hotel Belfast or if the elements are kind it takes approximately 35 minutes to walk there.

Newcastle

Although there are no plans for a big outdoor screen in Newcastle, many of the sports bars in Newcastle have huge screens set up so that you won’t miss out on any of the action no matter how big the crowd is. Tiger Tiger in Newcastle are offering fans the chance to book one of their Heineken rooms where a private fridge, table football and ping pong table should more than satisfy your needs for the 90 minutes. From Leonardo Hotel Newcastle, Tiger Tiger is just a 13 minute walk.

Dublin

If you’re cheering on the boys in green The Mercantile on Dame Street has 9 screens over three floors to choose from. As well as an electric atmosphere The Mercantile are also offering a burger and a Pint for €10.95 during the Euros so you won’t go thirsty or hungry as you watch the Green Army make their mark in France. The Mercantile is just a 6 minute walk from Leonardo Hotel Dublin Christchurch.
