This is a great Halloween treat to do with the kids as they are fun to make and look fantastically spooky…
Ingredients:
Method:
There are two ways you can get the Oreo onto the stick. The first is to separate the Oreo into two and thinly layer with melted chocolate, place the stick in the middle and then top with the other side, leaving it until the chocolate has hardened. Alternatively, gently push the lollipop stick into the middle of the Oreo.
Melt the white chocolate in a bowl over a pan of water on a low to medium heat, or on half power in the microwave (a minute, then 30 second sets until melted). White chocolate can quickly seize up so be careful not to overcook it. Once the chocolate has melted, dip each pop in and coat completely, letting any excess drip back into the bowl. Lay on baking paper to cool. Add two chocolate chips/Smarties for the eyes while the chocolate is still soft.
Once hardened (you can pop in the freezer to do this quickly), drizzle the remainder melted chocolate over the pops in a criss cross to look like mummies.
These look great and are incredibly simple to do- a real novelty one to do with kids.
Ingredients:
Method:
Using scissors cut away the widest part of the ice cream cone for the witches hat. Trim until they can sit on the digestive biscuits. Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of water or in the microwave, stirring until smooth.
Dip the cone end (the wide end) into the chocolate and place in the centre of the biscuit. Leave to set. Place on a sheet of baking paper on a tray that will fit in your fridge.
Drizzle the melted chocolate over the cone and biscuit until they are both completely covered. Sprinkle the stars over the hat and place in the fridge to set.
Now roll out the green icing and cut into strips. Roll out the black fondant and cut into small rectangles, cutting a small hole in the middle of each. Mix the icing sugar and a few drops of water, using the paste, stick the black buckle shape onto the middle of the strips. Once the chocolate has set, wrap the belts around the hats, using the sugar mix to attach and seal. Cut off any excess fondant. Your witch’s hats are ready to serve!
