Millhouses Park Sheffield is a 30 acre, award-winning public park next to the River Sheaf. Founded in 1930, the park was built on the site of an ancient corn mill and debuted with a range of sports fields, a swimming pool and a large boating lake. It has grown considerably and now boasts a children’s playground, skate park, woodlands and a natural habitat for a variety of fish. In 2011, the park was presented with the Green Flag Award for its eco-friendly facilities and lush landscaping. If you are planning on visiting the park there are plenty of fine

Water Attractions The
Splash! Project is located on the site of the old swimming pool and has reintroduced water play back to the park. The idea is to educate while entertaining visitors with interactive devices like an Archimedes screw, hand pumps and see-saws that pump water. The water from the area is released into a recycling tank where it can be used for watering the plants, feeding the toilets and filling the boating lake. Paddle boats and remote controlled boats are available to patrons as well.
The Fishway Project converted the old paddling pools into a natural habitat allowing trout and other fish to spawn. Now they can bypass the two weirs on the River Sheaf, so they can swim upstream. The complex design incorporates overhangs, rock pools and resting places that completely mimic the trouts' natural habitat.
