Brighton is also home to possibly the biggest vegetarian scene in the UK. Wai Kika Moo Kau has a vast selection of dishes and freshly made confectionaries which brilliantly combine locally-sourced food and artistic creativity for an all-round fantastic experience.

Whether you’re a lover of high quality coffee, or if your poison of choice is local ales and exotic cocktails, the seaside city has something for everyone

For those coffee aficionados, Pelicano is a must. The friendly staff, buzzing environment and freshly sourced coffee beans make for the perfect spot to recharge your batteries and watch the world go by, and their home made cakes aren’t half bad either. For those seeking a nice cold one and some accompanying entertainment however, Brighton has one of the best music scenes in the country, and many bars and pubs host live musical talent almost every day of the week. The Hope and Ruin is one such example, putting on a wide selection of musical genres whilst keeping a diverse selection of locally crafted beers and ales on tap.

Be stunned by a sunset

Brighton’s defining landmark is its iconic pier, and whilst the pier itself contains more than enough attractions to easily pass the day away, it is during the evening in the colder months that you’ll want to stick around. Just as the sun sets, the sky fills with thousands upon thousands of starlings bursting out from under the pier into a mesmerising cloud of shapes and colour.

Even for those who do not find themselves in the city during the winter months, the pier and its abandoned counterpart make for a great photo opportunity at sunset.

Shop for the bizarre

For the inquisitive and adventurous, getting lost in The Lanes is a must. This is where Brighton’s quirky nature is at its finest. The labyrinth of tightly interwoven streets is home to some of the most bizarre shops in the country, if not the world! Want to see art that is entirely edible?The famous Choccywoccydoodah will be the one for you, or if classic vintage stores are more your thing, you’ll be glad to know there are dozens making shopping in Brighton a truly unique experience.
