Komedia is among the longest-running and most successful entertainment venues in Brighton. Right at the heart of the city, it’s hard to miss thanks to the kicking legs and sparkling red heels that protrude from its frontage. But things get even more fun when you scratch the surface.
Winning the Chortle Comedy Award for Best Venue a record breaking 14 times, The Komedia’s proudly hosted many of the planet’s best (and most extravagant) comedians, musicians and entertainers. Each performance room comes with a well-stocked bar offering all your favourite drinks and cocktails, and you’ll always be served by friendly and attentive staff. Seated performances often see the venue serve up a fine selection of freshly made meals to the audience, making for a truly retro dinner-with-a-show experience.
If high-calibre live performances aren’t for you, don’t fret - the venue has an exclusive cinema hosted by Duke’s. I absolutely love the intimately-sized screening rooms and plush sofa seating, it means I can catch all the latest blockbusters without the hassle of the crowds, but have all the comforts of my own living room!
Almost anyone you ask in Brighton would agree that The Komedia holds an iconic reputation. The venue’s quirky nature and varied entertainment offering has undoubtedly put it at the forefront of the city’s culture scene; and it embodies the fantastically eccentric spirit that I love Brighton for. A night out at the Komedia will always leave you with a smile on your face.
