2018 is a big year for
Leonardo Hotels. On the 9th April, we’ll be celebrating our silver jubilee – that’s 25 years of happy stays at our hotels.
From humble beginnings, launching two hotels in Ireland back in April 1993, we’ve since grown to 36 hotels in popular and convenient locations all over the UK, Ireland and Czech Republic. From Belfast to Brighton and everywhere in between, we’ll have catered for 9,131 comfortable nights of rest, in our 7,601 stylish rooms and suites.
To get proceedings started, we’ll be offering 30% off all stays booked for 25 hours, starting 9am on Wednesday 11th April - so you can come and celebrate with us for less in 2018!
Of course, we’re far from the only ones hitting this milestone. In a nod to the class of 93’, we want to celebrate some of our fellow 2018 quarter-centenarians. From soft drinks to cars and popstars, here are 25 things turning 25 this year.
1993 was a vintage year for music in particular. The Bluebells’ cover of Bananarama track ‘Young at Heart’ might have been sitting at number 1 the week we were founded, put there 9 years on from its original release after featuring in a VW Golf advert, but we can’t say we remember it. More memorable hits from the year included Meat Loaf’s ‘I’d Do Anything for Love’ and Gabrielle’s ‘Dreams’.
It was an entertaining year at the box office too. Though Jurassic Park truly changed the stakes and upped cinemagoers expectations forevermore, Robin Williams’ turn as Mrs Doubtfire had us in stitches, while the incredible powerful and moving Schindler’s List swept up at the Academy Awards.
Back at home, the Dyson dual cyclone vacuum was beginning its decades of dominance in British households, while brand-new entrants to the automotive market – The Ford Mondeo and Vauxhall Corsa – were enjoying strong first year sales and cropping up on many driveways.
A lot has
changed since then, but we’re proud to offer the same comfortable stays and excellent service we always have. Come and celebrate 25 years with us, with a
stay at Leonardo Hotels in 2018.
