Tribes Alive!
Tribes Alive! is a 60 minute dramatic walking tour that takes you on ‘an enchanting journey back in time’. Working your way through the winding medieval streets of Galway’s Latin Quarter, the tour stops at nine of the city’s most historic landmarks, including Blake’s Tower, Kirwan’s Lane, St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church, and The Hall of the Red Earl.
The tour cost roughly €10 and departs just outside our hotel!
Spanish Arch
Built in 1584 on the banks of the River Corrib, the historic Spanish Arch is one of Galway’s most loved attractions. Originally an extension of the famous city walls and once known as ‘The Blind Arch’, this historic gem sits just opposite our Galway hotel and is well worth a peruse.
Rinville Park
Situated around the structures of an old stately home which oozes heritage, this beautiful park offers a ‘network’ of woodlands and open farmland, as well as close proximity to the sea. Rinville Park offers picnic areas and a playground, which are ideal for visiting families.
Located just outside Oranmore, Rinville Park is just a twenty-minute drive from Leonardo Hotel Galway, and admission is free.
Kylemore Abbey and Victorian Walled Garden
One of Ireland’s most popular attractions, Kylemore Abbey and Victorian Walled Garden is an absolute must-see. This incredible abbey is still today the home of the Irish Benedictine nuns, offering visitors a spiritual experience as they explore Kylemore’s natural beauty and awe-inspiring abbey architecture.
Admission costs around €13 for an adult with children under ten entering for free. The estate is open daily between 9am and 5.30pm. Kylemore Abbey is situated roughly an hour and twenty-minute drive from our hotel.
Royal Tara China Visitor Centre
Immerse yourself in Celtic culture and heritage with a trip to Royal Tara China Visitor Centre to discover the 300-year-old Irish tradition of china making. Situated in a historic 17th century mansion, Royal Tara is a short ten-minute drive from our Galway hotel.
Galway Arts Centre
Situated in the city centre, Galway Arts Centre offers a fantastic range of national and international contemporary arts for visitors to explore. In addition to the impressive art collections, the centre also offers a range of activities from art, writing, and photography classes to music, voice and drama workshops.
Admission to Galway Arts Centre is free. Opening times are Monday to Friday 10am -5.30pm, with Saturday hours closing earlier at 2pm. Situated on Dominick Street, the centre is a short five-minute walk from Leonardo Hotel Galway.
